Current mood: wistful
Current music:see below

I've got the roses, I've got the wine,
With a little luck she will be here on time,
This is the place we used to go,
With romantic music and the lights down low,
And as you stand there amazed at the door,
And you're wondering what all this is for,
It's just a simple thing, from me to you,
The lady that I adore, 'cos there's something
That you should know, it's that

I've been missing you, more than words can say,
And that I've been thinking about it every day,
And the time we had just dancing nice and slow,
And I said now I've found you,
I'm never letting go;

There is no reason to the things that we do,
You can break a heart with just a word or two,
And take a lifetime to apologise,
When the one you love's in front of your eyes,
And I will fall to my knees like a fool,
If it's the only way of getting through,
You see if I think you are beautiful,
Someone else is going to feel it too,
So there's only one thing to do, tell you that

I've been missing you, more than words can say,
And that I've been thinking about it every day,
Well tonight's our night for dancing nice and slow,
Because now I've found you, I'm never letting go,
No, now I've found you, I'm never letting go;

I've been missing you...
I've been missing you...
I've been missing you...
I've been missing you, darling...

Congratulations! You're the first person besides Splee to post anything on my blog. The song is 'Missing You' by Chris de Burgh from 1988 - one of my favourite songs.

Speaking of the 80's... are a fan of Midge Ure by any chance?

My three favorite musical genres are 80's New Wave, 40's bittersweet love songs, and moody classical piano - especially Chopin.

Chris de Burgh! Wow. It's been ages. I need to hear that song again. It was vaguely familiar but I couldn't place it.

Thank you.

I keep meaning to deepen my knowledge of 80s music and lots of other music too, but I never get round to it. When I have more time and money... Chopin's definitely enjoyably moody. Strangely enough, I don't remember ever hearing Midge Ure - I'll have to go to Borders sometime and have a listen.

Midge Ure was a singer/guitarist in the band Ultravox.

He also did solo work. I don't know how your internet connection is, but you might want to listen to Launch radio's "Ultravox Fan Radio" to see if you can catch him. :)

So... if it wasn't because of him, why are you Midge, M......?

By the way, I'm a friend of Splee. That's how I came upon your journal.

Have a wonderful day,
Ann

By the way...

I think "Visions in Blue" is a great Ultravoxey song. ;) "We Came To Dance" and "Reap the Wild Wind" are other popular songs. Midge Ure also helped write "Do They Know It's Christmas" for Band-Aid.

Now, I'm not the worlds greatest fan of Ultravox, I just happen to like useless trivia. ;)

Oh yes, I remember, they also did 'Vienna', didn't they? I'll have to listen to those other songs you mentioned.

Yep, I've seen your posts on </a></b></a>[info]primitivepeople's site. Nobody would ever come across my journal otherwise!

As for why the name - when I first joined a discussion board a few years ago, I was looking for a pseudonym and it just came into my head, based on my initials, and I've become attached to it now.

Now I'm going to be wondering what your initials are. ;)

I hope you're having a wonderful weekend, M. Don't drink too much Guinness! (How's that for stereotyping?)
